I am an Aussie TV Star

A couple weeks ago, one of the PR people for the YearlyKos Convention (of which I am Logistics Director) said they were talking with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation about a story they were doing on how the internet has changed presidential politics in America. The story was to run after the CNN/YouTube debate.

I was initially not interested since I'm not really a blogger and there are tons more people in this town that know way more than me. But after talking more with ABC it was clear to me I could fit the bill. I am told "The 7:30 Report" is a bit like "Nightline," a long format show that follows the evening news.

I went down to the offices in downtown DC where, upon my arrival, the assistant declared to the reporter in her office "your talent is here!" (how long have I been waiting to be greeted with that response!). After a 10 or 15 minute interview I was out the door and waiting for it to be posted online. That day has come!

Click here to watch my performance. It is about 10 seconds of camera time around the 3:30 minute mark of the segment. I kind of come off sounding like a surfer by inserting the word "like" where it doesn't belong. They also label me a "liberal blogger" which I don't think is really true despite the fact I'm writing this on a blog and I'm liberal. Anyway, it was a good time.

You know, as an avid reader of your blog, I think you should write more. A lot has happened since July 26. For example, there was YearlyKos. Gonzales stepped down. Tony Snow stepped down. Bush decided Iraq was like Vietnam... And I could go on. I would especially like to see a post on the Big Announcements about Iraq in September. At least one mother of an Iraq War vet is hosting a press conference this week in support of the surge. In any case, I love what you're doing. Keep up the good work.
